Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has openly discussed her recent decision to undergo plastic surgery, specifically a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and tummy tuck, referring to it as her “Mummy Makeover.” In a candid interview with The Sun Nigeria, she shared that the motivation behind the procedure was deeply personal, stemming from the physical and emotional changes she experienced after motherhood.
“Motherhood has been a journey of transformation, both beautiful and challenging. As I navigated the ups and downs of raising my children, I sometimes felt lost in the process. My identity shifted. While being a mother brings immense joy, it also made me question my self-worth and beauty,” she explained.
Ogbodo emphasized that her decision was not influenced by societal pressures or her marriage to a younger partner but was about reclaiming her confidence and sense of self. She described the surgery as a birthday gift to herself, symbolizing self-love and transformation.
“This surgery is a birthday gift to me. It’s a reminder that I’m worthy of care and change. It’s about taking control of my life and loving the woman I am becoming. This journey is not just about changing my appearance; it’s about rediscovering my strength, resilience, and beauty,” she stated.
To share her journey, Ogbodo posted a video on Instagram showing her recovery process, where she is seen being assisted by medical personnel after the surgery. The video highlights her commitment to transparency and her desire to inspire others facing similar challenges.
