On May 15, 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis received eight bills from the Florida Legislature. He had until May 30, 2023, to take action on them. The bills are:
1.CS/SB 190 – Interscholastic Extracurricular Activities: This bill addresses policies related to student participation in extracurricular activities.
2.CS/CS/SB 240 – Education: A comprehensive bill focusing on various aspects of the education system.
3.CS/CS/CS/SB 266 – Higher Education: This legislation pertains to governance and policies within higher education institutions.
4.CS/CS/CS/SB 1690 – Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking: Aimed at strengthening laws against sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
5. SB 1210 – Public Records: This bill concerns the management and accessibility of public records.
6. SB 7064 – Human Trafficking**: Further addresses issues related to human trafficking, complementing SB 1690.
7. CS/CS/HB 931 – Postsecondary Educational Institutions: Focuses on regulations and standards for postsecondary institutions.
8.CS/CS/HB 225 Interscholastic Activities Relates to student eligibility and participation in interscholastic activities.
