Ibrahim Abiodun Chatta (born October 13, 1970) is a renowned Nigerian actor, producer, director, and musician, particularly celebrated for his contributions to Yoruba-language films in Nollywood. As of 2025, he is 54 years old.
Early Life and Education
Chatta was born in Bachita, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria, into a large polygamous Muslim family with 14 siblings. He is of Tapa (Nupe) descent, while his mother hailed from Modakeke in Osun State.
He attended Saint Bridges Catholic Primary School in Bachita and later enrolled at Dende Secondary School in Niger State. However, he did not complete his secondary education due to financial constraints. Despite this, Chatta is fluent in English and has pursued self-education through online programs.
Career
Chatta’s passion for acting began in his youth, inspired by Yoruba theater legends like Adebayo Salami and Duro Ladipo. He started his professional acting career in 1985 by joining the Afopina Theatre Group, led by the late Adebayo Faleti.
He gained widespread recognition with his role in the 2012 film Aiyekooto, which marked a turning point in his career. Since then, he has featured in numerous notable films, including:

Ibrahim Chatta has been married three times. His first marriage was to Olayinka Solomon, with whom he had a son named Malik. After their divorce, he married Salamatu Lafiaji, but the union was short-lived. He is currently married to Olaide Aishat, also known as Lizzy Berry, and they have a daughter named Adunni Oluwasindara, born in March 2020.
