Early Life
Christopher Lee was born into an aristocratic family. His father, Geoffrey Trollope Lee, was a British Army officer, and his mother, Countess Estelle Marie Carandini di Sarzano, came from Italian nobility. Lee attended Wellington College and served in the Royal Air Force and British intelligence during World War II.
Acting Career
Lee’s acting career spanned nearly seven decades and over 275 film and television appearances. He gained fame in the 1950s and ’60s with Hammer Horror films, most notably portraying Count Dracula, which became his signature role.
