Despite financial hardships, he exhibited exceptional academic prowess. He began his education at St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School and later attended Ilesha Grammar School in 1956.
He initially enrolled at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, but due to the Nigerian Civil War, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1967. He further obtained a Master’s degree in Hydrodynamics in 1969 and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 1975, both from the University of Lagos.

Pastor Adeboye joined RCCG in 1973, initially serving as an interpreter for the church’s founder, Pa Josiah Akindayomi.
