Asa Asika (born August 14, 1990) is a prominent Nigerian talent manager and music executive, best known for managing Afrobeats superstar Davido and co-founding the entertainment company The Plug. With a career spanning over a decade, Asika has been instrumental in shaping the modern Afrobeats scene.
Early Life & Background
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Asika is the eldest of three siblings. His mother passed away when he was seven years old. He is the nephew of renowned music executive Obi Asika and cousin to rapper Naeto C, indicating a strong familial connection to Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Career Journey
Asika’s foray into the music industry began at the age of 16 when he joined Storm 360, working under his uncle Obi Asika. During his time there, he collaborated with artists like Naeto C, Ikechukwu, and Sasha P.
In 2013, he founded StarGaze Management Company, managing artists such as Naeto C, Boj, and Ayo Jay.
In 2016, Asika co-founded The Plug, an entertainment firm with subsidiaries in music, sports, events, publishing, films, and live shows. The following year, he resumed his role as Davido’s manager under The Plug.
