Early Life and Education

Akpororo was born and raised in Warri, Delta State, but he hails originally from Ilaje in Ondo State. He had his primary and secondary education in Warri. Later, he moved to Lagos to pursue his career and academic goals. He studied Sociology at Lagos State University.

Career

Akpororo started as a local gospel musician before switching to comedy. His big break came in 2008 when he participated in the “National Comedy Challenge” by Opa Williams, winning the Calabar zone. In 2009, he gained wider recognition after emerging as a runner-up in the AY Open Mic Challenge.

In 2013, he became a household name after a standout performance at “Basketmouth’s Laff and Jam” show. He is known for his energetic style, blending secular and church-themed humor, often referencing deliverance and spiritual scenarios.

Aside from comedy, Akpororo is also a gospel singer and actor. He has acted in several Nollywood movies including Headgone and The Antique.

In August 2014, he hosted his first major comedy show, Akpororo vs Akpororo, in Lagos, which was well-received and cemented his place in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
