Elizabeth Tsvangirai

Elizabeth Macheka was born around 1976 in Zimbabwe. She is the daughter of Joseph Macheka, a politician who served as mayor of Chitungwiza and was affiliated with the ZANU-PF party. She gained public recognition after becoming the partner and later the wife of Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
Marriage and Public Life
Elizabeth married Morgan Tsvangirai in September 2012 in a customary marriage ceremony. Their union attracted significant public attention due to the age difference between them and the political sensitivities tied to both of their backgrounds. Morgan Tsvangirai, a prominent opposition leader and former Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, passed away in February 2018 after battling colon cancer.
